What this role entails

Working as part of a team to design and implement the ancillary process components for our proprietary bioreactor and bioprocess
Designing and testing pre-pilot and pilot scale instrumentation and control
Utilise your processing expertise to creatively inform bioprocess design and operation
Development of robust ancillary bioprocess and instrumentation and control for. Muscle cell tissue engineering
Development of hardware and protocols for media feed and harvest/reseed of bioreactors

Selection Criteria

Masters-level qualification or equivalent experience in process/ manufacturing/ mechanical engineering
Proven industrial experience

Delivering for an organisation

Has delivered key design elements as part of a team, to deliver pilot/process commissioning or retrofitting or continuous improvement.

Team working

Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse range of people, working towards a common goal in a multi-disciplinary environment.


Essential: Masters level or equivalent in the fundamentals of process design; hands-on design/selection, build and test of connected process unit operations; set up and coding of microcontrollers/PC with C/Python or other monitoring and control tools;

Preferable: computational fluid dynamics to complement and inform unit design; whole-process modelling; mammalian cell culture/fermentation process experience
