What this role entails


Setting up and running day-to-day lab scale membrane production and bioprocessing systems under instruction from project managers, and 'chipping in' where necessary across the company to accelerate the R&D and Engineering workplans.
Being the source of knowledge and support for certain items of equipment.
Working with other technicians with a range of expertise to maintain a professional, clean and safe working environment.

Objectives

Support bioprocess development work by running and improving membrane fabrication.
Maintain or modify equipment to improve quality and productivity.
Run and maintain the materials lab to a high standard.

Selection criteria

Experience

Typically, 3+ years working in material production and maintaining equipment

Delivering for an organisation

Experience of responsibility for managing the day-to-day running of several items of equipment or entire labs

Team working

Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse range of people, working towards a common goal in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Ability to 'get to the bottom of' what a colleague really needs to solve their problems.

Expertise

Essential: Process/manufacturing line improvement
Preferable: Polymer chemistry including mixing and blending
