What this role entails
Setting up and running test rigs for bioreactors and downstream processing units under instruction from project managers and 'chipping in' where necessary across the company to accelerate the R&D and Engineering workplans.
Being the source of knowledge and support for certain items of equipment.
Working with other technicians with a range of expertise to maintain a professional, clean and safe working environment.
Support bioprocess development work by running upstream and downstream test systems.
Maintain or modify equipment to improve quality and productivity.
Run and maintain the bioprocessing lab to a high standard.
At least one year working in biotechnology or food & beverage R&D or manufacturing.
Delivering for an organisation
Experience of responsibility for managing the day-to-day running of several items of equipment or entire labs
Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse range of people, working towards a common goal in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Ability to 'get to the bottom of' what a colleague really needs to solve their problems.
Essential: setting up and operating bioreactors, downstream processing units or whole bioprocess/process.
Preferable: mammalian cell culture and analysis.
